Comments:
1. It is a useful bot. In many ways, a bot is preferable to am ORT
type server, since you can ask it for specific stuff. I'd like to see
it supported.
2. Jon's comment is right on the mark though: bots and the ORT are not
self explanatory to newbies. I've got another suggestion: a button
(perhaps labelled "Accessories") which pulls down a menu to switch
bots/ORT off and on at the client. Newbies don't need ORT right away,
and after they have read Help and chatted with the regulars, they
could be gently introduced to these topics. I'd switch the ORT off
myself most of the time, but leave the bot switched on.
3. The bot needs to be moderated, i.e. send requests to Jack as
suggested, otherwise it is guaranteed to become loaded with crap.
4. I saw the bot come in last time I was on, clicked on it, realised
the URL wasn't of interest, and clicked it off. The bot did not come
in (and shouldn't) too frequently nor does it annoy when it is
present.
Happy spring to all Northern Hemisphere denizens!
