Why?  Chess rules are pretty simple, and I don't need an AI engine.  After
all, we have real people!  And hopefully I can implement a scoring/ranking
system.

I could port it, but I know enough about chess to be able to write it from
scratch.  I've done C++ chess games before (with AI).  Of course, the AI
was utterly predictable, but... it beat me!
