This will be part of a sound plugin. I'm looking at using SNAK to do this and
it will work on windows and Linux. It will not be part of the main program due
to compatability issues. 

I don't plan on working on the sound plugin for quite some time. Anyone feeling
up to it could spearhead this movement.....
