This is a good idea.  But could I suggest a more direct method, such as:

/call cruise

would cause a sound (perhaps a phone ringing? - or is that too cheesy?) to
ring on cruise's machine and some message as to who is "calling" to
appear.

Configurations would include turning off this feature (if you don't want
to be called) and changing the sound file played.
