This could be accomplished in any scripting language really
I could write one in perl or tcl that would parse a file that listed each
server/room then connect to each one broadcasting a message like that.
Could prolly do it in about 10 minutes too. (if that)
If this is the kind of thing you are talking about let me know and I'll
whip one up as soon as I get home.

: and go to many rooms announcing that the server is going down and will be
: up shortly.  A stripped down OV client that would broadcast to all the
: OpenVerse servers running on a box would eliminate this problem.  A small
